On 22nd and 23rd May, 2008 in Montreal /Canada/ was held the Workshop on Management of the agencies for Protection of Personal Data. Mrs. Veneta Shopova, the Chairwoman of CPDP and Mrs. Maria Mateva / a member of the CPDP/ participated in it.
In the working meeting participated Mr. Peter Hustings / European Data Protection Supervisor/, the chairmen of the Italian and French Agencies for Protection of Personal Data and other members of the management institutions on personal data protection from Europe, Canada and New Zealand.
At the meeting were discussed important issues related to the activity of competent state institutions in the respective countries as special attention was paid to issues on funding of the activity and the percent ratio of the state subsidiary to the total budget. On the workshop was discussed the current problem related to the human resources management in the competent institutions of personal data protection. Other topics aimed introduction to the participants of the successful management strategy, providing work environment, tolerating the individual initiative, team work and other important issues related to daily activity of the institutions of data protection.
