On 28th January 2016 the Commission for Personal Data Protection celebrated the Data Protection Day for the tenth time. The accent of the event falls on the dialogue between the CPDP and the citizens and data controllers. Traditionally, an Open Doors Day is announced.
A consultation for data controllers and citizens, seeking for an expert opinion and asking questions about data protection related matters, such as international transfers, data protection on the Internet, monitoring and control at the workplace is organized.
With regard to the Data Protection Day, the Commission for Personal Data Protection announced the launch of a competition for children and students (pictures, essays, poems). The theme of the competition is “What the others know for me”. The awards will be given on 1 June 2016, on the occasion of the 14th anniversary of the establishment of the Commission for Personal Data Protection and the International Children’s Day. The annual award for journalism will be given to journalists, who have contributed the most for promoting citizens’ right to data protection. The first award will be given on 28th January 2017 was also announced. The Annual Report on the activity of the Commission for Personal Data Protection for 2015 was registered in the registry of the National Assembly.
