On January 25th 2018, in Pristina, Republic of Kosovo, a one-day regional cybersecurity and privacy conference took place, which went under the motto „General data protection regulation and Reacting upon incidents”. Amongst the participants were representatives of Kosovo, Czech Republic, Macedonia, Albania and Bulgaria. CPDP was represented by Prof. Veselin Tselkov, member of the Commission and by Mr Krasimir Trifonov from the „Legal Procedures and Supervision” directorate. The conference was split into 4 main panels. In panel 1, the Regional Cyber Emergency Responses panel, regional teams for emergency reaction in cyberspace introduced the participants with their activity on executing proactive activities for the minimization of risk upon incidents in the information security and solving such incidents in case that they have already materialized. Following were two consecutive panels dedicated to the discussion on the General Data Protection Regulation. In the last panel of the conference, the CyberLAW panel, the legal framework on cyber security was discussed.
Within the second panel of the Conference, Prof Tselkov gave a presentation on the subject „GDPR – the new challenges”.
