On 8th May 2008 at the national press club of BTA was held a press conference of the Commission for Protection of Personal Data. Mrs. In it participate Mrs. Veneta Shopova, Chairwoman of the Commission, as well as four other members – Valentin Enev, Veselin Tselkov, Krasimir Dimitrov and Maria Mateva.
The reporters were acquainted with the trends and the goals as well some specific aspects of the activity of the Commission. Part of the questions were related to the inspections of the information data bases, the method of processing and storage of the personal data in the institution, the complaints on personal data administrators for violating the rights of the citizens under the Law for Personal Data Protection.
According to the Commission most of the complaints are related to illegal disclosure of the personal data of individuals without prior notification from the administrators.
As a significant part of the activity of the Commission were specified the expressed opinions on the legal processing of the PIN, personal data for statistics purpose, the conditions of processing personal data of the clients of the commercial companies, which provide services. After the press conference, the members of the Commission gave a lot of interviews for the electronic and printed media.
