Between the 16th and 17th of June, 2014, in Brussels, meetings of the Joint Supervisory Bodies and Groups to the Council of the European Union are being carried out.
On the 16th of June, 2014, a meeting was carried out for the Joint Supervisory Body of Europol, the core aim of which is to guarantee individuals’ rights in the storage, processing and use of personal data during Europol activities and to monitor the permissibility of the transmission of data originating from Europol. Representatives of the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection are the Chairman, Mr. Ventsislav Karadjov, and Commission Members Ms. Mariya Mateva and Mr. Tzanko Tzolov.
On the 17th of June, meetings will be carried out for the Customs Joint Supervisory Authority and the Customs Information System Supervision Coordination Group. Representatives of the Commission for Personal Data Protection are Members Mr. Veselin Tselkov and Mr. Tsevetelin Sofroniev. One of the main topics is a discussion on the national practices in propagating the brochure prepared in 2013 explaining clearly the responsibilities of data controllers using the Customs Information System and their obligations at national level to change, correct, supplement or delete improper or unlawful processing of data in the system. The Supervision Coordination Group will present a report on its activities during the period 2012-2013, and will discuss the work program for this year and the next.
