On the 28th January, at 1 p.m., the Commission for Personal Data Protection was accepted by the leaders of the Commission for Internal Security and Public Order in Zapad Hall at the National Assembly. In the meeting took part the Chairwoman – Mrs. Veneta Shopova and the Commission Members – Krasimir Dimitrov, Valentin Enev, Maria Mateva and Veselin Tselkov.
The meeting started with a brief greeting from Mr. Mincho Spasov to the Commission for Personal Data Protection on the occasion of the European Day of Protection of Personal Data. Later, Mr. Shopova briefly presented the activity of the Commission for the previous (2008) year. A special attention was paid on the impending inspection on “Shengen”, from which to a great extend depends the further progress of the accession process to Shengen Zone.
It was mentioned that in the beginning of 2009 were accepted new Regulations on the activity of the Commission for Personal Data Protection and its administration. Mrs. Shopova announced the impending establishment of Call Centre for connection to citizens with the Commission and the forthcoming establishment of an internet site, which will maximum, facilitate the connection with the citizens and improve their informing on the activity of the Commission for Personal Data Protection in general.
