As the only data protection supervisory authority, CPDP has a responsibility to conduct a widespread awareness campaign which will popularize, in a clear and plain language, the main elements of the EU data protection reform and the new legal framework that the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) establishes.
The information activity of the Commission is with a permanent character and its goal is the message to reach the widest possible range of stakeholders – citizens and data controllers. In connection with this, as well as the occasion – the European Data Protection Day on 28th January, CPDP made two informative booklets, whose goal is to clarify key questions, which can ease the application of the GDPR. The booklets are titled „Practical questions on data protection matters after May 25th 2018” and “10 practical steps for the application of the General Data Protection Regulation”.
Taking into account the dynamics of the processes, the information will be periodically updated and more will be added with clarifications on important practical questions. The leaflets are published on the Commission’s website and are printed in 24 000 copies, which will be disseminated in the building of the Commission, at events featuring the Commission, as well as with the help of public and branch organizations.
