Foundation „Citizens Against Bureaucracy” selected the Commission for Personal Data Protection as the „Governmental authority of the year”, which is the biggest award of the Foundation for a comprehensive assessment of the work of the institution.
On a special ceremony which took place on November 15th 2017, the Chairman of the Commission – Mr Ventsislav Karadjov received the certificate. At the ceremony also present were Mr Stoyan Tsanov – head of directorate „Legal Affairs, International Cooperation, Planning and Training” and Mr Tsvetan Ivanchovski – head of directorate „Legal Procedures and Supervision”.
This is the second award that the Commission receives from the foundation „Citizens Against Bureaucracy”. As usual, the foundation pointed out the good examples in the administration. However, 2016 was the first time for the Foundation to give annual awards to governmental institutions. Amongst the prize winners was CPDP for „Best citizens’ service”.
This year the Foundation handed awards in 5 categories. Amongst the winners were the National Revenue Agency – in service improvement category, Sofia Municipality – for electronic services in the municipality administration, Registry Agency – for best client oriented online page, and the Ombudsman, Ms Maya Manolova – for the active protection of citizens.
