On the 6th and 7th of June 2013, in the town of Shumen, the National Military University "Vasil Levski" is hosting a Conference on protection of personal data in the context of information security. Scientific conferences on security issues are being held in the last 6 years in pursuance of the University’s research activity. Co-organizers of this year`s forum are the Commission for Personal Data Protection and the State Commission on Information Security.
The Conference will be attended by the Director of "Information Security" at the Ministry of Defense, colonel Jordan Bozhilov, as well as by representatives of the State Agency "National Security", Executive Agency "Electronic Communication Networks and Information Systems" at the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, the Ministry of Interior, the Administrative Court – Shumen
Rapporteurs in the first Conference will be the President of the Commission for Personal Data Protection, Mrs. Veneta Shopova, and Professor Veselin Tselkov, Memeber of the Board. The report of the CPDP President is entitled "State policy in the field of personal data protection. Professor Tselkov’s report will focus on the minimum technical and organizational requirements for personal data protection. The Communications Regulation Commission will give a presentation on the Electronic Communications Act as a special legislative act regulating the personal data protection of public electronic communications services’ users. The Law and Internet Foundation will present some legal problems associated with the use of intelligent systems for tracking and recognition. Representative of the State Commission on Information Security will deliver a report entitled “A model for building a cyber security system”.
A work on scientific session is included in the two-day event – "State and Security", "Information Security", as well as "Student-PhD session", which will involve tutors, lecturers and students of the National Military University "Vasil Levski", Shumen’s , Veliko Turnovo’s and Bourgas’es Free Universities are included in it. A range of issues related to the protection of information and in particular – the protection of citizens` personal data, will be discussed.
