On 25th June 2014 г. the Polish city of Gdansk hosted the closing workshop in the framework of the project “Raising awareness of the data protection issues among the employees working in the EU”. The Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection has been a partner on this project with the data protection authorities of Poland, Croatia and the Czech Republic. The workshop was attended by representatives of the partner countries, as well as the trade unions and the local academic community. The output of the project, a guide titled “Privacy protection in the workplace” was presented at the workshop. The guide aims to raise the awareness of the employees in the EU on data protection issues.
The Bulgarian delegation was headed by the chairman of the Commission, Mr. Ventsislav Karadjov, who delivered a report on the topic “Personal data protection in cyberspace”. The other representatives of the CPDP were Ms. Mariya Mateva – project leader and member of the Commission, Ms. Desislava Toshkova – acting secretary general and Mr. Anton Todorov – senior expert. Ms. Toshkova and Mr. Todorov delivered a presentation titled “Key issues with regard to personal data protection in the workplace”.
This event marked the end of the project implementation, which became possible because of the funded provided by the European Commission in the framework of the “Lifelong learning” programme. The Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection will continue to seek opportunities for improving its services through project funding.
