The authorities responsible in the Ministry of Interior, which enter, update, and delete national alerts in NSIS, are as follows:
1. SIRENE Bureau – concerning:
· persons wanted for arrest and temporary detention for surrender or extradition based on issued European Arrest Warrant, Extradition Request, or Request for Provisional Arrest
· Missing persons or persons who need police protecting action to be taken at a request of the authority responsible, due to their own protection or for threats prevention, wanted with the purpose of establishing whereabouts and ensuring their security;
· witnesses and persons brought to participate in a prosecution, wanted for establishing whereabouts at the request of a judicial authority;
· persons subject to discreet surveillance or specific controls at a request of a competent authorities on national security protection, on public order or judicial authority;
· vehicles, for specific control and discreet surveillance purposes, at a request of a competent authorities on national security protection, on public order or judicial authority;
2. Migration Directorate – concerning third-country nationals, who are subject to a "denial of entry" within the Schengen area pursuant to the Foreigners in the Republic of Bulgaria Act;
3. General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime, Criminal Police General Directorate, Border Police General Directorate, Security Police General Directorate, the regional directorates of the Ministry of Interior (RDMI), Capital Directorate of Interior (CDI), Migration Directorate,Bulgarian Identity Documents Directorate and their respective units to RDMI and CDI, registered the searching for objects in the AIS Search activity (to seize or to use them as evidence in a prosecution) – on stolen, misappropriated or lost property subject to seizure, or property, searched to be used as evidence in a prosecution:
· vehicles with engine capacity exceeding 50 ccm;
· trailers and caravans with net weight exceeding 750 kg;
· firearms;
· official document forms;
· issued identity documents, including those declared invalid, i.e., identity documents, driving licenses and residence documents;
· vehicles registration certificates and plates, including those declared invalid;
· investigated banknotes.
All these authorities are responsible for the legal data input in NSIS as well as for reliability, accuracy and timeliness of data entered by them.
