CPDP provided the National Assembly with information on the Electronic Communications Act

 

On May 5, 2023, the CPDP provided the National Assembly with summarized statistical information for the previous calendar year 2022 regarding the cases of providing traffic data to the competent authorities for the purpose of national security and prevention, disclosure and investigation of serious crimes, as well as for carrying out operations of search and rescue of persons. The information is prepared on the basis of the data received from the enterprises providing public electronic communication networks and/or services.

CPDP has the obligation to provide this information to the National Assembly and the European Commission annually, by May 31, in fulfillment of the provision of Art. 261a, para. 5 of the Electronic Communications Act.
