From 21th to 26th September in Madrid a visit was held of a Working Party of the Commission for Personal Data Protection in the Spanish Agency for Data Protection. The meeting is a part of the implementation of the twinning light project “Co-operation for Further consolidation of the administrative capacity of the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection and further improvement of the control activities in the sphere of sector control”. The project is being realized as part of the PHARE programme and it is signed by the Spanish Agency for Data Protection and the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection.
Deputy director of the Spanish Agency for Data Protection, Jose Lopez Calvo acquainted Bulgarian participants in the meeting with the realization of the control activities of the Spanish Agency. Some problems concerned to the transfer of personal data and video surveillance were identified. The Bulgarian Working Party was informed about carrying out checks of the telecommunications operators, the education, the healthcare and others.
Bulgarian group presented a preliminary report on checks in the telecommunications and education.
The main differences in the legislation of the both countries were discussed as well as some current problems in the protection of personal data in them.
