On 28.01.2010, on the occasion of the European Data Protection Day, the Internal Security and Public Order Committee of the 41st National Assembly met the Commission for Personal Data Protection. The meeting was held in the Mirror hall of the Bulgarian Parliament.
The chairman of the parliamentary committee Mr. Anastas Anastasov and the chairperson of the Commission for Personal Data Protection Ms. Veneta Shopova stressed on the explicit significance of the European Data Protection Day and the meeting itself which was an expression of the dedication of both state institutions to the topic, which on this very day focuses the attention of all citizens and institutions not only in Europe, but in the whole world as well.
The members of the National Assembly and the Commission for Personal data Protection discussed over current topics of the personal data protection legislation and the future tasks aimed at the successful completion of the process of the admission of Bulgaria to the Schengen Area.
