On September 12, 2013 the 42-th National Assembly adopted the Report for 2012 year of the Commission for Personal Data Protection. The report was submitted for vote by the Internal Security and Public Order Parliamentary Committee, which decided to support it at its meeting on 24 July 2013 .
The Parliamentary Committee’s report referred to the successful implementation of CPDP`s priorities for 2012, as well as to the Commission`s practice in the base directions of its activities, national and international cooperation with other authorities. Special attention was paid to the institution participation in the activities associated with changes in the European personal data protection legislation, the negotiations and conclusion of agreements for cooperation with similar personal data protection supervisory authorities. The CPDP’s success in the implementation of European standards in the field of data protection was underlined.
The Chairperson of the Commission for Personal Data Protection – Veneta Shopova, attended at the plenary session. She answered to the MP’s questions, which were related to some current issues of public interest such personal data abuse, access to traffic data and its storage and use, and more.
The report was adopted with 87 votes "for" and 1 "against".
