On 28 January 2015 in the CPDP’s meeting room was hold a press conference at which the Commission for Personal Data Protection presented to the officials and the media its Annual report for 2014. The event is a part of the Commission`s initiatives to mark the International Data Protection Day – 28 January. The Commission was represented by the Chairman, Mr. Ventsislav Karadjov and the Members – Mr. Tsanko Tsolov, Mr. Tsvetelin Sofroniev and Ms. Mariya Mateva.
Among the official guests were representatives of the National Assembly, the Deputy Minister of Interior – Mr. Tsvyatko Georgiev, the spokespersons of the Central Election Commission – Mr. Alexander Andreev and Ms. Kmeliya Neykova, the members of the Central Election Commission – Ms. Rumyana Siderova and Ms. Ivanka Grozeva, the Director of the Directorate General „Civil Registration and Administrative Services” – Mr. Ivan Getov, representatives of the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Education and Science, Registry Agency, State Agency for Child Protection and others. The press conference was attended by NGO representatives – Fanny Davidova and Alexander Kashumov from „Law and Internet Foundation”.
CPDP took the opportunity to inform the presents about the initiatives, which plans to deliver in 2015 under the motto „Commission for Personal Data Protection – a candidate to host the 40th International Conference of Data Protection and Privacy Authorities” which will be held in the second half of 2018.
In the „Open Day”, the Chairman and Members of the Commission „opened” their doors for the citizens, data controllers and media representatives to visite the institution and to get expert answers to their questions, as well as updated information on issues related to the privacy protection.
