The European Commission issued Citizen’s Guide to the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield. With the adoption of the adequacy decision on data protection of "EU-U.S. Privacy Shield" on July 12, 2016, the European Commission committed issue a guide for citizens explaining the available remedies in case an individual considers that his personal data has been used without taking into account the data protection rules. If necessary, the guide could be supplemented and revised.
EU-U.S. Privacy Shield is a new framework for protecting the fundamental rights of citizens of the EU whose personal data is transferred to the United States. It also brings legal clarity for businesses relying on transatlantic data transfers.
