The Commission for Personal Data Protection (CPDP) has received information that in the objects of pharmacy sales network certain individuals identify themselves as representatives of the Commission. They oblige merchants to require customers to fill out declarations with which to declare that they are aware of the fact that the trader of medicinal products is registered as a data controller. In case of default, such persons shall impose fines on traders on behalf of CPDP.
In connection with the above, the CPDP informs the citizens and data controllers engaged in retail trade in medicinal products that the Law for Protection of Personal Data does not require to complete a declaration for clients of pharmacies, respectively the CPDP does not carry out inspections and does not punish for failing such an obligation of the retailers of medicines.
In the event that in the object of pharmacy sales network certain persons pretend to be employees of the CPDP with aim to verify the implementation of that requirement, please alert the Commission on the following telephone numbers: 029153515, 029153518 and 029153519.
