Alerts on persons and property entered in NSIS are kept only for the period necessary for achieving the purposes, which they were entered for, under the following terms and conditions:
1. alerts on persons are kept for three years following the alert entry, and alerts on discreet surveillance or specific control of persons – one year after their entry as those terms may be renewed from time to time;
2. alerts on stolen, misappropriated or lost property subject to seizure, or property, searched to be used as evidence in a prosecution are kept for a period of ten years from the date of their entry;
3. alerts for the purposes of discreet surveillance or specific controls on vehicles are kept for five years from the date of their entry.
The need for further storage of alerts on persons shall be reviewed by the authority, which entered the alert, one month before the respective deadlines.
SIS alerts shall automatically be erased after a specified storage period in terms of no necessity for their further storage.
