From 15 to 16 April 2013 in the city of Prague, Czech Republic, the 53th Meeting of the International Working Group on Data Protection in Telecommunications is being held. CPDP is presented by it’s members – Mr Krasimir Dimitrov, Mr Valentin Enev and Mr Veselin Tselkov.
The main topic of the two-day discussions are problems with data protection in Internet – the protection of privacy in social networks services and the "right to be forgotten" in websites containing indexing. Attention is paid to the use of Skype in the public administration and private companies, particularly in the health and social security. Issues related to the video surveillance are discussed as well as the use of some technologies that raise legitimate concerns about privacy protection. One of the focuses of the debate is the cross-border breach notification. The cooperation between the International Group, the Regional Conferences of the Commissioners on Data Protection and the International Conference of Commissioners on Data Protection is discussed.
The Bulgarian authority on data protection will present its report on the activities in the field of personal data protection in telecommunications, where the highlights are the protection of personal data in the e-government, issuance of the Mandatory Directions on the Law on Electronic Communications, adoption of a new Ordinance on the minimum level of technical and organizational measures and the admissible type of personal data protection.
