From 31st March to 1st April 2008, Veneta Shopova, the Chairwoman of the CPDP and Maria Mateva, a member of CPDP took part in the 17th Working Meeting on Case Study in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The main topics which will be discussed at the meeting are the use of biometric in the public and private sector as well as protection of personal data in the internet. The cases which were the object of discussing from the representatives of the institutions for protection of personal data related to such current issues as dissemination of biometric data in the private sector and the police procedures, protection of under aged in publication of personal data in the internet, personal data in blogs and forums, social networks, identity theft. A review of the established practices will be made and media campaigns in this field.
